Primates and Tree Climbing lionsKibale Forest is safe Haven for Primates and has 13 different species of primates but the main Focus is the Chimpanzee Tracking experiences but,the Chimpanzee Habituation Experience can be done too depending on the amount of time.on our Uganda Gorillas and chimpanzee.

This experience of staying longer in their Natural Habitat is an amazing experience of life time.And on this trip 8 days chimpanzees and Gorillas Uganda can switch from Tracking experiences to Habituation experiences,both to the Gorillas and chimpanzees.

Most of the Activities  done on a daily basis are  and if lucky the Behaviours Intrepreted by the Nature interpreter/ranger guide will avail.For this trip went as planned and we very well enjoyed the expedition by staying with the Chimpanzees for an average time and enabled us to observe them enough.

 

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Entebbe to Western Uganda

Begin your journey by transferring from Entebbe towards the western part of the country. Along the way, pass through lush tea estates, offering scenic views. Cross the northern part of Kibale Forest, where the dense canopy reveals rich biodiversity. Stop here to observe the forest’s primates and unique wildlife.

World's Destinations of PrimatesThis area is home to forest elephants and several primate species. Notable primates include chimpanzees, olive baboons, and Uganda red colobus monkeys. Additionally, look out for red-tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, and L’Hoest monkeys. The region also hosts over 350 bird species, adding to its diversity.

 

We proceed to Ndali Lodge for a late lunch in a serene setting. The afternoon is reserved for relaxation after the journey. This break allows us to prepare for the thrilling chimpanzee trek the next day.

Ndali Lodge is uniquely located in the stunning crater lakes region. Its tranquil environment is perfect for unwinding and organizing the next adventure. The lodge offers exceptional comfort, making it an ideal choice during the 8-day chimpanzee and gorilla safari. The next morning promises the much-anticipated chimpanzee habituation experience.

Day 2: Early Morning Chimpanzee Trekking

World's Destinations of PrimatesWe start the day with an early breakfast to prepare for the adventure ahead. Setting out early ensures we find the chimpanzees still in their nests. This timing enhances the experience, allowing us to witness their morning routines in the wild.

Before departing, we will place orders for packed lunches to carry into the forest. This is essential, as the activity requires spending an extended amount of time exploring the forest trails. The day promises an unforgettable immersion in nature’s beauty and the world of chimpanzees.

 

 

 

 

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Queen Elizabeth National ParkWe start the day with a leisurely breakfast to relax before the journey. Afterward, we transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This Park is Uganda’s second-largest national park, teeming with diverse wildlife and breathtaking scenery. The park is home to elephants, buffaloes, hippos, lions, and leopards.

Later, we will embark on an exciting boat trip along the Kazinga Channel. This freshwater channel connects Lake George and Lake Edward, creating a vibrant ecosystem. Animals and birds gather at the water’s edge, especially on hot days, providing incredible viewing opportunities. Check in will be For Lunch.and relax at Mweya Safari Lodge.

 

Day 4: Cat Tracking in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Tree Climbing Lions

We begin with an early breakfast to prepare for an exciting morning activity. Starting early maximizes our chances of successful cat tracking.

This activity focuses on the elusive lions and leopards of Queen Elizabeth National Park. By joining researchers, we gain unique insights into the behavior and lifestyles of these big cats.

The experience offers an incredible opportunity to understand the wildlife ecology of the park. Tracking these majestic predators adds a thrilling and educational aspect to the safari adventure.

Day 5;

We will have a leisurely Breakfast and latter transfer to the Southern End of Queen Elizabeth national Park the Ishasha Sector.Ishasha Hosts the the Population of the Tree-Climbing Lions. And this will enable us to explore the Habitats for the sought after tree-Climbing lions and overnight stay at Ishasha Wilderness Camp.

Day 6;-Early Morning Breakfast and Transfer through the Ishasha Again for the Tree-Climbing Lions for another Chance before transferring to Ruhija for the Night at Kiho Gorilla Safari Lodge.The Gorilla Family we will be tracking is at the Eastern Gate of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and we will have a Night before joining the Rangers for the Gorilla experience and Latter transfer to Buhoma after completion of our Chimpanzees and gorilla .

Day 7:-This is the Day to the Gorilla Tracking experience.

Meeting the Gentle Giants through the Impenetrable Forest is such an amazing experience of the Lifetime.Latter transfer and overnight at Buhoma Haven Lodge,The reason to transfer to Haven Lodge is to get closer to The Airport kihihi.for the Internal Flights to Entebbe before heading out to another destination.

Day 8:-As we end our wildlife tour we will too have an Early Breakfast to head out to the Internal airport Kihihi for the Flight to Entebbe,this day’s flight might be the morning or afternoon one.And that Will avail us with the Time to do the Community tour and Visit the Entreprising Ride for the women Project.

The more detailed activity will be the one we aim at Doing, the Chimpanzee Habitat Experience, on our Uganda Gorillas and chimpanzees. 8 Days Chimpanzees and Gorillas Uganda: Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Transfer to Western Uganda
We transfer from Entebbe to the western region, crossing scenic tea estates and the northern part of Kibale Forest. Here, we pause to observe the forest canopy and search for primates. This area is home to forest elephants, chimpanzees, olive baboons, Uganda red colobus, and more. With over 350 bird species, it’s a birdwatcher’s paradise.

We continue to Ndali Lodge for a late lunch. Enjoy a relaxed afternoon and evening, preparing for the upcoming chimpanzee trek, one of the highlights of this 8-day adventure. Ndali Lodge is perfectly located in the Crater Lakes region, providing a tranquil setting before the next day’s activity.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking

Primates and Tree Climbing lionsWe begin with an early breakfast to set off for the chimpanzee trek. Early morning is ideal to find the chimps still in their nests. We’ll ensure packed lunches are ordered, as we plan to spend more time in the forest.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, we head to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s second-largest national park. The park hosts a variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, hippos, lions, and leopards. We embark on a boat trip along the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake George and Lake Edward. This channel attracts animals and birds, especially on hot days. We check into our lodge for lunch and some relaxation.

Day 4: Cat Tracking
An early breakfast prepares us for the day’s cat-tracking activity. Cats are elusive, and research on lions and leopards is conducted here. By joining researchers, we increase our chances of discovering the behavior and lifestyle of these big cats.

Day 5: Transfer to Ishasha

Tree-Climbing Lions for the 12 Days Gorilla and Chimpanzee trekking experiences.

We enjoy a leisurely breakfast before transferring to the southern part of the park, Ishasha. Ishasha is known for its tree-climbing lions, offering a unique wildlife experience. We explore the habitat and spend the night at Enjojo Lodge.

Day 6: Tree-Climbing Lions and Transfer to Ruhija
After an early breakfast, we go back through Ishasha for another chance to spot the tree-climbing lions. We then transfer to Ruhija, staying overnight at Kiho Gorilla Safari Lodge or Broadbill Forest Camp. The gorilla family we track is located at Bwindi’s eastern gate, providing an early start for the following day’s trek.

Day 7: Gorilla Tracking

Meeting the gentle giants is the highlight of a lifetime. After the trek, we transfer and overnight at Buhoma Haven Lodge, closer to Kihihi Airport for convenience.

Day 8: Departure
We have an early breakfast before heading to Kihihi Airport for our flight back to Entebbe, concluding this amazing wildlife adventure.
